I’m a young black woman, who’s foundation is Jesus Christ. Being independent and having a hands on character has allowed me the opportunity to represent South Africa in the Youth world cup 2023. I have gotten this far in a span of just a little over 5 years. I started playing tag rugby in 2018, having never heard of it my whole life. I quickly came to love the game. This is partially due to my tendency of being a spiritual person. Such character forces me into holding mental well being with high regards. I believe our state of mind influences how we worship. Sports, specifically tag rugby, has been a means of maintaining good mental health for me as an individual. I believe that my amount of passion can someday influence someone watching into playing the sport. In that way their mental health can be improved just a bit. This won’t happen over just one world wide tournament however i see it as stepping stone. Unfortunately my parents don’t understand my passions and have refused to fund me. This puts me in an extremely tight position as Tag rugby is a pay to play sport. I want to pursue a career in psychiatry to improve mental health. However, for the time being, I can use what I have- tag rugby. Reality is I can only use it if i can pay for it. I believe that with your help i will be able to raise R60 000. Ever and any cent means the world to me.
